Can a baby be too active?

Doing that stupid thing of comparing my baby to others just been to a group with babies of a similar age and they were so chilled out just lying there, not making much sound whilst my little one was all over the place babbling away.
My 7 month old just does not sit still, constantly moving her arms or hands or legs. Constantly babbling, screeching and growling 😂
Almost impossible to feed anywhere except a quiet dark room as any noise is a distraction.
Anyone else have a very busy baby?

It's been a while since mine were that age.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with more recent experience Wink

My little one is 7 months and always on the go. She is pulling herself up crawling. Getting her changed is impossible and I’m considering getting her a crash helmet!
She likes to make her presence known with plenty of shrieking and raspberries too.

Both of mine were like this very active while others just sat and stared like potatoes. It's just personality OP. Everyone is different. I am very talkative and alert and engaged generally so maybe genetics too?! 😂

yes my child is like that - its just their nature!

Two very busy babies here. Interestingly, at 2 and 4, they are still very busy (and can both talk for Scotland), but they're pretty average in terms of physical activity levels. I think now they can channel that busyness into other things, and busy drawing or cooking in the toy kitchen or similar is quite a lot easier on the parents than constant physical movement and noise!

Yep . Two of mine were like that (and one was later diagnosed with ADHD and medicated the other wasn't but should have been!)
Now I have a toddler grandson, and I swear he has not stopped moving since he was born.. he was in intensive care after a catastrophic birth and they had to put a weighted fake hand on him because even when nearly dying he was wriggling, and pulled out his tubes by day 6! He hasn't stopped since.. super active, now super talkative and very sociable and fun. He may also have an ADHD diagnosis in his future I suspect.... but he has a great role model... his (still medicated|) Aunty is now a doctor Grin . She's bonkers, but a brilliant woman!

We do lots of activities to wear him out :)

Yep! Constantly on the go (started in utero and since then has only really stopped to sleep). They want / need lots of cognitive and physical activity and have always had low sleep needs. I was pretty much the same as a child and if I'm honest I still am, a bit.

DD1 was lie down and sleep, even when she started crawling at about 9 months she would crawl to something, then stop and play with it.
Dd2 was forever active. Her 12 weeks scan she wouldn't stay still enough, and she continued like that. She didn't learn to sit until she was about 10 months because from 5 months she just threw herself onto her front and crawled off.
Ds loved to lie under the baby gym and play. When he learnt to crawl he'd take himself there then roll over to play with it- or to wheels.

Ds has adhd. I suspect dd1 has add too.

Yes, mine was always constantly kicking his legs and moving his arms from being a tiny baby. He was crawling before 6 months and pulling up to stand and cruising at 7 months - all eyes were on him at baby groups while the others were still lying their like potatoes (their words not mine!) and started walking properly at 8.5 months.

He now isn't quite 2 yet but hasn't slowed down, it's exhausting but a lot of fun haha!
