When your child hurts themself…

…do they run to you for comfort?

My DD is 5 and she hates falling/hurting herself, and reacts much more strongly than any other children I see. She seems to get very angry, and probably embarrassed, but the worst part is she never comes to Dp or I for comfort, she runs off or screams, shouts really angrily, she’ll even shout things like “you stupid floor” to the floor when she trips!

It’s hard as all we can do is ride out the tantrum, which is basically what it is. A huge loud tantrum! And impossible for us to pre-empt because accidents do happen, she’s an active, adventurous little girl and loves to run around in the park, climb etc.

SHE sounds exactly like me I get annoyed at the object that I hurt myself on. Her reaction to pain is getting frustrated. Anger is just the iceberg above the water you see but underneath it is just pain.

I mean I think I'm pretty normal. So don't worry! Also she's still very young
