4month old excessive crying

Hi there,

Hoping for some guidance/insights. I will preface by saying I will of course be taking baby to GP this week just to be on safe side.

4month old as of 10ish days ago has become increasingly unsettled and crying excessively. No signs of illness (has had a few viral illnesses since birth including RSV at 2.5 weeks so I’m well versed in what to look for)- no temp, taking all feeds normally, plenty of wet nappies, no signs of rash/bruising, lumps or bumps. He has silent reflux and has been successfully medicated with losec. Sleeping fine at night. Does show some signs of teething- lots of drooling, fist in mouth and nappies have become more frequent and smell a bit foul.

Last week was absolutely fine, took naps in cot. Now is fighting all naps and crying excessively throughout the day. Has to be held all the time where previously had been content to do some time playing on the mat or in the bouncer.

Has anyone experience of a baby that all of a sudden at 4 months cries a lot?

Im at home FT and really struggling with a 2 year old who wants to be played with. I can barely do essential tasks like make dinner or change toddler. He won’t settle in a sling or carrier and wants to held all the time

LO was so so unsettled with reflux, I was constantly told by 4m he will improve so much but suddenly feels like we’ve taken a giant step back. I’m so sad I can’t soothe him and we are back at square one after such a difficult start.

God I can remember how awful those days could be.

I think the reflux could be your answer. Have they said what they think is causing the reflux? It's usually more of a symptom than a diagnosis.
