Monday tea time issues

So, my LG is 3. And every Monday is a nightmare (for an hour or so). She sleeps amazing on a Sunday night. She wakes up happy on a Monday morning and goes to nursery in a brilliant mood. She comes home and she won't eat, she's moody, she's crying and whingy and my god she's an absolute nightmare.

It's the same time every Monday. She paddies, screams, yells, stamps her feet and it's because we've asked her to eat her tea. For a full hour she refuses, argues, demands crisps and other stuff. She never, ever eats her tea. But she'll eat yogurts, fruit, crisps, literally anything but her tea.

We always ask her what she wants for tea everyday. She chooses. She helps us prepare and make it. She very rarely refuses food. But Monday evening she does. It's so so strange.

I've asked at nursery if something has changed, any new pupils or teachers or assistants and the class is the exact same every other day. And she's perfectly fine every day. Just not a Monday.

I know we all have bad days or bad moments or whatever but it's literally the same time, same day and over the same thing! Then once she's paddied, cried, shouted, done whatever it is she needs to do, she apologises to me and her dad and then she'll eat. Then she'll be happy and herself again. She'll get a bath, get into bed and have her story and go to sleep and then it's back to normal routine.

I'm not sure what anyone can say or do or whatever. But I just needed a rant. And to possibly see if anyone else goes through something similar.

Anyways, happy Monday all!!

Ah bless her, probably just readjusting after the weekend and is tired.

Why don't you do a picky tea night.. leave it on the side and let her help herself and you do the same. Put the bits out like crisps and then sandwiches /wraps etc.. then you have not treasure around the eating bit.

It'll be a phase like all of this stuff with kids

@Nelly44 - you know something. I never even though to do that. I just always ask her what she wants and let her make it. But if I do like a party good tea, she might just go for it!

Thank you! ♥️

Ea picky tea sounds like a good idea or just make Mondays pizza night if she likes that.

Does she get a meal at nursery?
