Would you risk swapping to a cot duvet??

DD is 15 months and turns sideways in her cot every night at least once and we end up going to tunr her round as she will chirp on an off and not settle. I was wondering if she's getting all twisted in her grobag and that is hindering her ability to move around effectively / comfortably.

I wondered about trying a cot duvet but I'm worried about her ending up sideways as before but underneath it and then us not hearing her cry as it will be so muffled. What do you think??

I think my dd was about a year-ish when we put a duvet in her cot and had no problems with it. She had also been in grobags. AN alternative is to get some of those fleecy pyjama suits and put that over sleepsuit/normal pyjamas instead of a grobag - we also did that for quite a while and it worked well as she was also getting all twisted in the grobag. Obviously we didn't have her in the fleecy pyjamas AND a duvet though!

Are the togs the same for duvets as they are for grobags do you know? i.e. DD is in a 2.5 tog grobag - what would we get duvet wise??

Not entirely sure about tog rating - we just got a cot duvet from ikea and had dd in vest and normal pyjamas.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 15/03/2008 07:55

do you know what tog yours is by any chance?

our cot duvet is 4 tog from mothercare....ds seems fine in it with pj's and a vest

I'm sure you will be able to cry even if she is under the duvet!

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 15/03/2008 08:03

oops sorry, meant HEAR HER cry

We had exactly the same with DD and switched to a cot duvet at about the same age. She used to get twisted up in her grobag, get stuck at the top of her cot and we'd end up going in umpteen times a night. Switching to a duvet solved the problem.

Phew thanks everyone! I have just been to mothercare and am now the proud owner of a cot duvet (but no covers as yet . The only think I've thought of now is that we're going on hols in 2 weeks time so may be dft to transfer to a duvet now - I must find out whether they can get a cot duvet for her with the travel cot that's being provided....

at 15 months she may well end up underneath it, and she will then take it off her face perfectly well.

TheAntiFlounce · 15/03/2008 10:17

You wn't get any bedding with the travel cot, you will have to take it all.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 15/03/2008 10:17

If no duvet provided on hols would you leave her in a grobag til we get back, take the duvet with us or take a grobag?
