Weaning off night feeds

Hello, my boy is 1 next week and I really want him off the night bottle.
There is no routine for him waking for this at all. He goes to bed around 7pm until 6am usually. But can wake for more milk anytime between 1030-5am!! It is totally random so I feel like I haven’t got timings to work with?
move always put him down awake and he just goes to sleep, we have no problem putting him to bed. So I don’t believe we would need to cuddle/Pat etc when he wakes as I think this would annoy him more? But he does cry for milk in the night.
the only problem is, he only ever has 2/3oz before bed and never wants more…. I can’t give him dinner any earlier than 545 as I work full time. And tbh I’m not sure this would make a difference.
the last few nights he’s woken up crying in the night for milk but only wanted 1/2oz.

any suggestions please?

Do you feed him as the last part of his night time routine? We had a sleep consultant and changed the routine so his final feed is first, then bath, story time then into crib. As soon as we did that he stopped waking for a feed as he’d not gone to sleep having a feed.
I guess also making sure he’s getting enough calories in the day and maybe that he’s eating foods that he’ll sleep for dinner eg sweet potato’s have tryptophan in which promotes sleep.

Hello thank you for replying! He eats like a monster lol, plenty of great food so I don’t think it’s the calories. Maybe I’ll try giving milk earlier, however he would be having it for dessert straight after dinner 😵‍💫 but maybe I’ll try that. Thank you!
