14 month old rocking at noise

I'm hoping someone can help with this, I'm caring for a 14 month old little boy who is slightly delayed in his development, ie has only been crawling a few weeks.

I've noticed that any prolonged noise, ie food mixer, washer on spin, vacuum cleaner etc and he begins to gently rock back and forwards.
He stops the minute the sound stops and he doesn't seem distressed in any way by the noise.

His birth mum is classed as having moderate learning difficulties and she has an autistic brother.

Lots of children rock to music - do you think maybe he likes the sound, and finds it comforting? FWIW apparently I sat on my bottom until 14 months...

Not sure as he shows no enjoyment or distress. I suppose I'm concerned given his family background and his development delay, he also has no words as such although he will repeat certain sounds ie woof.

If its any help My DS son with ASD would actually be more likely to rock when there is no music. It kind of sooths him but is not linked to any sound stimulus - if thats what you mean.
