Silent reflux or normal crying?

My DS is almost 9 weeks old and for the last week/10 days is pretty much crying unless hes asleep.

He is EBF and i feel hes feeding well, doesnt fuss during feeds or anything and weight gain is good.

The constant crying (not always but often a painful cry) is becoming unbearable. He sleeps fairly well at night but starts to grunt/strain, kick legs and punch arms from around 4am until we give up and get up at 6am.

I'm back to work in the next few weeks and the stress of leaving him is making me ill.

Im going to contact HV on monday but could this be a sign of silent reflux? Or anything else?

I'm not trained but I doubt it's Silent Reflux he's sleeping well at night.

Can I ask how you'll be feeding him when you return to work?

Ok so how often is LO feeding at the moment and are they following their centiles?

Hello, I don’t have any answers but my baby is/was the same except it started at 2 weeks. She’s now 16 weeks. She improved at 12 weeks so assume it’s colic. She still cries a lot though - whenever I go anywhere with other babies she’s the only one crying and even if she’s not crying it’s because I’m trying everything to stop her.

My HV suggested silent reflux and I got gaviscon from the GP but it didn’t make any difference. And a hospital consultant (I asked while we were in for other reasons) said same as @SiouxsieSiouxStiletto - as she is ok at night unlikely to be silent reflux.

He is feeding every 2 hours, sometimes every hour during the day, then will do a 6 hour stretch at night before going back to every 2ish hours.

He is following the centiles thankfully and plenty of wet/dirty nappies too
