Ever since the winds the night before the earthquake Niamh's been EXTREMELY reluctant to go to bed, let alone sleep. The earthquake never woke us up, but DH was woken by Niamh crying (he didn't check the time on the clock) REALLY frightened & inconsolable-so we presumed it was the e/q that upset her. Now every night (and twice she's actually been sick) she's cried to the point of making herself sick & really upset. Has anyone else had any experience of their LO sleeping fine, then something upsetting them & not being settled afterwards. I have to add aswell that I can count on 2 hands the amounts of upset nights we've had since she was 6 weeks old (slept through since 6 wks). I think part of our problem is that she's been so good, that now she's not being good at going to sleep that it's the end of the world for us (IYKWIM?)!!
Thanks.

Hi madmOOse. Sorry to hear this.

What age is you daughter?

My son too slept through from about 6 weeks, he's now 5. He's always had a good solid bedtime routine. When he was about 2 1/2 he started getting scared about scarey monsters in his room. So I asked him how could he make the monsters go away, and he said 'shout, go away scarey monsters!' and sent them to a place called Ballynahinch! This worked for him. Every night we shouted 'Go away scarey monsters!' and they went away to Ballynahinch! The point is it was his fear and he made up the cure for it. No amount of adult logic would have come up with that cure! So if your daughter is of an age where she could do similar, then let her try!

Oh and we haven't been back to Ballynahinch since.....!
