I have a dd and she is 4 now, she has mild asd and has symptoms of hyperactivity too,she is developmentally a normal kid but has significant speech delay ..... goes to therapy 3 days a week....some doctors call it isolated speech delay.but I have doubts. She babbles all day long and is very vocal, say lots of words from her books, alphabets and numbers, but the conversational talking is no where yet. she communicates all her needs non verbally by pointing, hand leading etc.

She normally learns everything I teach her in one go easily but potty training is hard. I feel she is not mature enough for her age. Is anyone else in same boat
?? How and when did your kid started functional speaking if you had one like her?

When she is in an emotion like she is fighting with her elder brother she clearly tries to speak but couldn't......as if she has no words to express her anger!!!

I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience with this, but you might like to repost in one of the Special Needs sections (or ask MNHQ to move this post). I know there are a number of posters there who have children with significant speech delay.

There's also a speech/communication delay support thread in this forum, although I think most of the parents' children are a little younger than your DD (https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/behaviour_development/4754333-speechcommunication-delays-support-thread)
