Co-sleeping : baby and toddler in the same room

I have a dd aged 2.5 and another one age 8 months. They both sleep reasonalbly well with the occasional early morning wake up - middle of the might screaming. Baby currently sleeping in buggy in living room ! Havent' yet dared to get them to sleep in the same room. Would love to hear about other people's experience.

Also how to put them to sleep at the same time ?? I currently read 2 books to toddler and tuck her in with night light on and she plays a bit (quite noisily)and then goes to sleep. I can't imagine how the baby could manage to fall asleep in the same room ??? thanks for advice...

From my experience...bung them in same room and don't worry! Mine very quickly developed an ability to sleep through each others noises....and in fact both sleep better together than apart.

I really don't think a buggy is a good place for night-time sleeping. Take the plunge and bung them in. Night-time routine - leave as is - baby will soon get used to it.

good luck

We have 4 in the same room! Eldest, 9, moved out into her own room, but moved back in cos she was lonely

We have never had too much trouble with them waking each other, and our youngest - now 2 - has a scream like a banshee if he wakes in the night. I think they all just get used to it.

In short, just give it a try! Also, re the night light, it is supposed to be healthier to sleep without - so maybe baby coming into the room would be a good excuse to say to dd1 that baby needs it dark, and QUIET!

Until we bought a bigger house DS1 & 2 shared a room, there is a 4 year difference and DS1 soon learnt to sleep through any night time waking or sheet changing.
