When do kids start sleeping longer?

21mo is a champion sleeper, I REALLY am not trying to complain but she sleeps 7.30pm-5.30amish (fine by us, we get 1.5 hours for dinner and grown up time in the evening and hit the hay early at 9 so feel great at 5.30am).

But I remember never wanting to get out of bed as a kid. Even my earliest memories, I remember sometimes being forced out of bed. When will we get to lie in later than 5.30am, please? Alternatively, when did your kids start sleeping in?

Mine are still young but they get up after 7 sometimes 8 if I'm reallyyy lucky. They do go to bed a lot later than yours though. Have you ever tried to bring her in with you at 5:30am and get her back to sleep? I still give my 2.5 year old milk at that time and she goes back to sleep. I will do anything for an extra hour or so!

@KylieKangaroo I wish! She's a Duracell bunny as soon as she wakes up. We do bring her into bed as soon as we get up but she is ready for the day at that point. Still breastfed and will breastfed for a lovely 15 minutes first thing, which is very peaceful, but after that she's bouncing up and down. We have tried putting her to bed later but that results in the classic overtired 4am wake up which I like less, especially as we get a few hours less in the evening to ourselves too.

We taught ours to read the time pretty early and told them to stay in their rooms until 7am. They still woke but would be quiet until then. You've got a bit to go though until that's an option but you could always try a Gro clock?
