11 year old daughter won’t sleep

Hi

i’m becoming frustrated with my DD sleeping habits and wanting to change them.
She won’t sleep. One problem is she won’t sleep in a bed. She makes a den under her desk with blankets and has slept there since we moved house. We moved so she wouldn’t have to share with her sister anymore and it was what she wanted. Our other daughter now has a good routine and sleeps fine in her own bed in her new room. She chose her new bed and it was about £500 and she won’t sleep in it. We’ve come on holiday and she’s refused to sleep in the beds and wanted to sleep on the sofa. She came into our room about 3 times to say she couldn’t sleep last night and I’m tired with it.
She just doesn’t seem to want to settle on a night and will be up for hours reading, drawing and writing - it’s long after I go to sleep when she’ll fall asleep. Then she can’t wake up on a morning or is really bad tempered. She is going through puberty too. I’d love for her to do more exercise to tire herself out but sometimes suggestions something is a no or becomes a power struggle.
i take iPads off them early and we have a calm down time where they get a snack, might play a game and I expect them then to go read and be quiet and for 2 of them they go to sleep.
id like some ideas to help her. I was wondering if the GP could give something to help her settle.

Is she having problems with any other aspects of her life @Mnbvcxzlkhgfds?

My DD has ASD and I'd say that trouble with getting to sleep is probably the main thing she struggles with, although there are obviously a lot of other things too.

Not really. I guess she’s just finished year 6 and that is a transition year. I just wish she would get some sleep in a proper bed.
