7 month old doesn't babble or laugh

My little one is just over 7 months now and I've only ever heard him laugh once and it wasn't even a proper laugh and I've tried all sorts to make him giggle nothing works the most I get is a smile..
He also doesn't babble at all no matter how much I talk to him there's no response or copying again he just smiles then I've thought about it and realised he never made any cooing sounds either the only noises he makes is when he cries or the odd little noise but no signs of attempting to babble or laugh etc
I'm trying my best not to overthink it as every baby is different and he is doing amazing with his physical development he's been rolling and crawling since 6 months old can hold and reach for toys and use pincer grip sometimes too..
Has anyone else's little one been the same and did they have any issues with speech or general development??

My DD is also 7 months and I have to try really hard to make her laugh.
She will do a very small giggle after I have done about 20 "peekaboos" with her but she doesn't full on laugh.
I'm not overly concerned yet as she seems happy within herself.

Have you had his hearing checked?

He's just turned 2 now and he does have a slight speech delay only says afew words and only some are clear and won't even attempt to copy a word you say to him, but he's absolutely thriving in all other areas of development and he's involved with the right services who don't have concerns and say he will catch up when he's ready.
But I have taught him sign language/makaton which has helped massively with understanding what he needs when he can't say it! I did start this around the same time as making this post so it's never too early to start.
But I'd like to add every child is different and I know some friends whose babies were the same and they're now speaking amazingly.

@AJ91 hi. May I ask how is your child now? Do you have other concerns beside speech?
