I've recently started to notice that my eldest daughter shows some signs of autism. Now Im stuck with what to do about it. Im doubtful that there is much severity but it would certainly explain her behaviours.
She struggles with friendships and making new friends, l doesnt do well in group situations is more a 1:1 child, has little regard for boundaries, puts herself on my level and doesnt see how unacceptable it is when she tries to dictate to me what I am going to do and when, she will focus on the small things quite often, doesn't like changes or being away from me and she also has some slight sensory aversions to some materials.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? I dont know whether to raise this with our GP or consultant (also recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease) for assessment or try and manage this myself. Her dad and I are divorced and we dont always see eye to eye when it comes to these kind of things, he will just brush it off as her being bratty.

I think it all depends on how old she is. I think you would need a very different strategy for a fourteen year old as opposed to say a seven year old.

To clarify, she is 9. It also doesnt help we've all had a rough couple of years with their dad coming and going for 6 months before finally moving in with his gf, then they also had to go through divorce and moving home. On top of all that covid as well.
