Gymboree - anyone been?

Recently a Gymboree place has just opened up near us. DD is now 2y 8m and I was wondering about seeing if there was anything suitable, on ym days off for her there.

We did got to GymBabes and Tumble Tots when she was 6 months - 18 months, but it is just a bit too far away really.

She did start dnace class recently and to start with loved it. Then for no apparannt reason she decided she hated it and refused to dance anywhere near te teacher. haver to admit the teacher did seem very stern and a bit of a misery, so wonder if it is a result of the teacher shouting at a couple of the other girls the week previously. So we are leaving that for a little while.

I think we need an organised class at a set time/day - to make us more likely to go! And something I can join in with her if thatis what she'd prefer maybe.

Anyone been to Gymboree? What did you think?

I've not been, but one opened up near me recently and sent out all the details of classes etc. I thought it looked really good, but all the classes for dds agegroup were on days I workedso couldn't goSad.
Have you had the brochure and cd-rom sent out, it tells you all about the different classes on offer.

mediagirl · 10/12/2004 11:58

That looks really great!

I love Gymboree but the two stores in the North West have just closed, have you heard anything about any of the stores closing in the South?

Very Sad all the uk clothes shop have shut, can order on website from America but its not quite the same as being able to go to the shop. My 6yr old DD loved sitting on the chairs watching the TV/Video thing whilst I hunted out the clothes! Sad Sad

Its the same company as the childrens clothes because along with the brochure they sent me a 10% off voucher for the shop!

What a shame they have closed the boutiques.
The Gymboree play centres look really good. Thanks for the link Hulababy unfortunately there aren't any near Manchester but fingers crossed some might open in the future.

I used to take my kids to Gymboree classes and they loved it. We only stopped because me moved and there are none nearby.

I assume the UK ones are very similar and I would highly recommend it.

(And the clothes are really cute too!)

I have just phoned Sheffield branch up and we are now booked in for a trial 45 minute session at 10:30am for a GymExplorers class on Monday.

After that we can look at other things (such as te Music class) and prices would be good too!!!
