Can anyone help?

My 7 month old son has had Diarrhoea since last saturday i took him to the doctors on Monday and she gave me some diarolyte (sorry can't spell) then on Tuesday his two bottom front teeth cut the gum.

He is otherwise well, wants his food and milk and is quite happy when the teeth are not bugging him.

Both my ds & dd did/do this, it's my best way of knowing when teeth are coming! In fact, ds has had a few dodgy nappies in the last week and I can see his top eye teeth this morning.

I don't think it's too uncommon.

Suzy1 - dd was the same, whenever she was about to cut a tooth she'd get crankier than ever, get a temperature, red cheeks and diarrhoea. Not much could be done for that except for changing her nappy frequently to keep her bottom clean and apply lots of in my case desitin cream (dd reacts to sudacream). I usually cut anything acidic out of her diet as well not to further 'stress' her tender bottom...

dd's nasty nappies usually stopped 1-2 days after tooth came through

Suzy1 · 10/12/2004 10:41

ok looks like i have a few more days then they have only just cut the gum and don't seem to be doing anything else at the moment.

Suzy1, I found the timescale varied, mine usually get the nappies a week before the tooth can be seen.

Don't stress! Just smile at all advice and say 'Really? Thanks' and then erase it from your head completely. Works for me! Grin (apart from excellent MN advice of course Wink)

thanks for the advice - i will see what happens over the next few days and stop stressing
