At my wits end

After some advice or something I think!
My 2.5 year old son has hit physical milestones but his speech is poor. Me and his dad can understand somethings but it's mainly 2-3 words put together unclearly.
The other things I've noticed is he hates not wearing socks. To the point he will cry / tantrum until they're on. He's just today been for a hair cut, usually he does ok with a few tears but today it was something else to the point we had to leave with half a hair cut.
Food wise he eats and drinks near enough everything, no fuss there. He's sociable, albeit shy for a few mins then he's fine.
I bought him a new coat and it's took a week for him to wear it as he'd cry and take it off. He walks on his tip toes occasionally at home. Does not do any of this at the childminders.
He'll drop to his knees and refuse to walk if he's somewhere unfamiliar, even on the school run he will drop and I'm unsure if this is anxiety. He hates being in shops, he'll fry the way round.and he's not always responsive to his name.
I'm unsure if this is typical 2 year old boy behaviour or possibly autism signs? Maybe sensory processing disorder. My family think I'm looking for signs and maybe I possibly am. But ultimately if he is autistic I want to know so I can learn how to help.

Sorry for the rambling but if anyone has any advice I'd be grateful. Thank you

Hey! I have an 8 year old with autism and what you've described does sound very familiar. Especially dropping to the ground ect. The stuff with the socks and coat sounds very sensory, my boy is never in clothes in the house just underwear. My boy also didn't speak until after he was 4 just a couple of words. I think I'd definitely seek some professional advice as it sounds like things are a struggle right now, childrens centres are great they basically set me up with all the agency's and referrals. It might not be but it's worth speaking to someone , things became so much clearer for me on how to help after he got his diagnosis.
