Potty training tips

Hey all, any advice on this...

My almost 2 year old daughter is very reluctant to use the potty. I had no intention of potty training her until she's showing more willing, however she is actively telling me when she has a wet or dirty nappy and asking to be changed. Dirty of course gets changed instantly but I'm not accustomed to changing after every trickle!

What would you do? I offer her the potty several times a day but always a receive a firm no. She won't allow herself to be put on it, or use the toilet. Feel between a rock and a hard place.

Just leave it out and see what happens. You could try keeping her nappy free on a day that you are in all day and take it from there.
Definitely don't rush though! My daughter potty trained at 2.5 years old and within 1 week she got it.

My oldest did the same at 2.5, went from nappies into pants with no drama or accidents! Which is why I'm prepared to wait, but wasn't ready for her to be pulling her nappy off for every wee!! The potties are out in a few places and are often offered. If I try to leave her without a nappy she brings me one 🙈

I'll hope for a sunny day next week and try some naked bum time.

Thanks for taking the time to answer

Sounds like she has the skills for potty training, so def try naked or underpants when you have a suitable day for it. My boy literally never went on the potty though it was available for months, but when I took off the nappy and put on normal underpants he quickly realised that he would get cold, wet legs if he didn't use the toilet (in his case naked didn't help as the pee landed far enough away from him so he didn't care!)

I also got him one of those ladders up to the toilet with a built-in seat rather than a potty, which he preferred - but that's a personal thing.
