I have promised the girls that this half term that i wil lhelp them ride bikes. dd1 can now pedel quite fast after her first day, but isnt confident enough to ride without stabilisers. this means she is using dd2 bike as the bike she has doersnt have stabilisers on it.

is it possible to get her riding in a week without stabilisers?

How could we not have thought of this????

Thank you for this thread, dd1 is 7 1/2 and to date, is adept only in throwing herself clear of her bike at the onset of any variation from upright exceed 1 degree

I am so glad that there are others out there who have not mastered this too

Oh God - i am so glad to read this thread - i have been feeling horribly guilty about this. My kids just bugger about on theirs in our (small) garden. dd is nearky 7 and she is starting to get anmnoyed taht ahe still has stabilisers. Poor girl got a second hand bike that is miles too big for her too!
I may tacke it this half term - it is hard though as dh has to work, so will have dd6 wanting to learn, ds 5 wanting to learn dd2 on trike with handle and ds 6mo in buggy - out on the street as garden is too small - cant be done!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will try stabilisers and pedals off.
Thanks - i feel much better now - now to get them to swim
