I think it's time for a cot

My daughter is 10 months, we've always coslept (single mum) on a double bed. One side is pushed up against the wall (her side), but recently she's been so active of a night, crawling around the bed, climbing on me etc. Just now I put her down for a nap on her side of the bed, heard a thud ran up and she'd fallen out the bed on my side. So I think it's time for a cot however, the only way I can get her to sleep is by BFing her and then slowly putting her down next to me. And even then if I move too abruptly she wakes up crying, so I'm thinking transfer from me to cot won't work.

Are rocking cots a waste of money? People have suggested they are however she always went to sleep really well in her Moses basket when being rocked, and also sleeps in the car/ pram so I'm thinking a rocking cot might be the answer

Hopeful bump although I'm not really sure what I'm asking, guess if anyone's had a rocking cot and was it worth it

You could try getting an IKEA cot and removing the side that drops so that you can get the cot right up to your bed. Or a double mattress in her room on the floor which is what I did with my first - at least there's not very far to fall that way. If you are planning to sleep in different rooms after she's asleep at night you will need to properly baby proof her room though - basically take out anything she can climb or pull up on and put a baby gate on her door. I slept on a mattress with my first on the floor until she was 3 (ebf baby, fed to sleep and then just awful awful sleeper as a toddler) and then we just went straight to her in her own bed with me on a mattress on the floor next to her and then moved the mattress closer and closer to the door until out of the door.

Alternatively, we've got a cot bed (so slightly bigger than just a cot), and I've just climbed in, fed mine to sleep, and then climbed out again. Not my first choice for how to do bedtime, but needs must...
