Not laughing 9 months old

Hi all,
I have identical twin girls, they’re 9 months old (born 4 weeks early).
Im concerned as they very rarely laugh. If I tickle them I may get a little quiet laugh but otherwise nothing. They do smile though (not much).
Developmentally they have always been quite slow, they roll over a lot but not crawling yet, they can sit. They don't respond to name but do babble. They give good eye contact.
When did your babies laugh, could this be a concern?
They also hate the foil blanket as its too loud, I think they get frightened by it.
Thanks for reading x

It's really good that they do laugh sometimes and that they babble. This progress checker might be useful to see where they are with their babbling.

Just wondering if they are under a Paediatrician with them being early? Has the DTs twins development been checked recently? If they're not under a Paediatrician, I'd ask your HV to do the ASQ check for 9 months as that will flag up if they need any additional support like physio Flowers

Forgot to add that it might be worth having a look at some old threads in the Multiple & the Premature Birth sections to see if anyone has experienced the same as you Flowers

@PritiPatelsMaker thanks for replying, much appreciated. They were born at 36 weeks & initially had lots of checks re weight but then got the all clear & no more checks. They will have a developmental review at 1 year but that seems quite far away. I took a look at the links you sent, its useful, they do not do most things in there but Im hoping its because its aimed at 9 months old & as they were 4weeks early so they are developmentally an 8 month old. I will take a look at the thread you mentioned x

Here is the version for 8 months: https://www.broomfieldpediatrics.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/ASQ-3-8-Mo-Set-B.pdf. It's got the scoring sheet at the back as well – they never expect 6 'yeses' in a section, and scoring 'in the grey' in one or two sections is also quite common. (The way it was designed, roughly 1 out of every 7 or 8 babies will be 'in the grey' in a section.)

Thanks @skkyelark I will take a look

@Sunnyfrench hi. I’m in the exact situation as you were then but now, exactly same ages, prematurity and worries. Can I ask how your getting on please? Thankyou
