So my one year old gets like the hienz meals and stuff and he does eat himself at times I've been to scared to do any form of baby led weaning it just wasn't for me and wasn't something I was untreated in doing. My little one is so used to eating off a spoon and fork he does pick up food and eat it but I'm struggling what he can have for lunches on the go that don't need heated? Does anyone have any advice for this? I'm at a loss sorry for the rambling

I absolutely get that baby left weaning can be intimidating but I think you need to work on self feeding which will help widen options in long run. Start with something easy that has less choking hazards like melt puffs from the supermarket. I always found the what mummy makes first book very helpful for lunches and different options for lunches once little one has hang of self feeding.

I give him the meaty puffs and cheese and he likes toast and he selfs feed those things but see when it comes to anything like meals and actual food he just refuses if that makes any sense. So if we give him what we are having for tea or dinner he won't self feed he expects us to do it

Ah I see, have tried giving him a loaded spoon. Or filling and putting in his hand? Like anything it's a skill to learn so will take time. If he eats finger foods can you do sandwiches/muffins/quesdilla/wraps/pizza?

Yeah I load the spoon the majority of it is all over the house but I'm hoping he gets the hang of it I think I need to let him have a little more independence and oh I will try them they sound easy enough for him
