I have posted this on the food forum too...Hiya everyone, got a bit of a problem with my little boy, he is 2years and 5months old. I just can't get him to eat meat! The health visitors are worried he's not putting on weight, and the fact that he isn't getting enough protein. I have tried everything, disguising it, make it fun, include him in cooking. He also won't eat eggs or beans, so I too am getting concerned now. I can get him to eat a little bit of ham and small amount of chicken but even then he is turning his nose up at it. What am I to do, I am ant my wits end and getting more concerned by the day? He is full of energy and never stops!

could you do the whole make meals fun thing where at lunch you introduce a new piece of food but you dont fuss if he doesnt want it pay no attention it could be anxiety or he knows he'll get attention

you could try making your own pizza's adding differewnt meat you could get shape cutters and cut the ham into ddifferent shapes

ask him to jsut put food to his lips then really cheer and make a fuss if he does "i cant believe you just done that well done"

"i bet you couldnt bite some and eat it" and then lots of praise

even if he doesnt dont let him see your bothered by it

pretend your not to sure about something

" i wonder what that tastes like its good to try knew food" eat it then make a big fuss about how nice it is and say why dont you try some its gorgeous

do silly things to make him laugh and relax and do this each day intoducing new things he will attempt to try something the less pressure to eat it he is more likely to eat it

so even if your really anxious inside look like you have no care in the world jsut make it fun and praise for trying and maybe do a smiley face chart for everytime he tries something new

hope some of this helps i am lucky my ds eats anything but these were some tips my friends was given and her son does try all sorts now good luck
