CMPA/reflux/ newborn skin rash

Daughter is 5 weeks old. Has always been extremely unhappy/ fussy baby, cries A LOT. Very windy with feeds and fussy during and after feeds. Exclusively breastfed (won't take a bottle). Hiccups after most feeds, vomits sometimes but regularly refluxes small amounts into mouth, prefers to be upright to sleep/ cuddle. GP gave infant gaviscon yesterday and I've cut milk out my diet for 6 days, her poops have definitely changed and are less watery since. Anyone with experience of cmpa have an opinion on her rash or any advice in general? Just newborn acne or could it be cmpa rash?

I've had one with baby acne and no CMPA and I know it's hard to tell over the internet but that does look my DD's baby acne.

Has going DF helped at all? Have you read Dairy and other food sensitivities on Kellymom?

Perhaps silent reflux if she's very unhappy although reflux in general is pretty normal at this age. Probably too early to tell if it's silent reflux but if she keeps being very unhappy and fussy when feeding I'd investigate that with your GP. If you are regularly seeing her reflux into her mouth and then swallow it then it's probably silent reflux. The other thing to look for with silent reflux is arching their back and wanting to feed constantly to alleviate the pain. My silent reflux baby grew out of by five months and I think they say they should grow out of it by six months.

The other thing could be a fast let down in your milk flow. Is she a quick feeder and does she look like she's struggling with flow? Is she coughing or almost choking when feeding? If it's a fast let down the only thing that's really solved it with both of mine is them just getting bigger and physically more capable of dealing with a large volume of milk delivery.

The other thing to check is has she got tongue tie? You might need a private lactation consultant to diagnose that if you don't have a specialist NHS breastfeeding midwife or team nearby.

The rash does look more like baby acne to me, my dairy allergy baby never had a rash like your baby's.
