My two year old has started grinding his teeth...What's that all about. He also insists on waking his 5 months sister up every time she falls a sleep, is this what they call the "Terrible Twos"!!

I'm afraid the terrible two's is a myth - the terrible phase lasts until they are about 21 and leaving the house!!!

Caribbeanqueen had the prob of grinding teeth with her little one and I spoke to my sis (dental nurse) about it (dont know if you saw that CQ). She says it is very common, but there is nothing a dentist can do about it until the child is older - they can then provide shields to protect the teeth. As for waking his sis up, well I have no words of wisdom for that I'm afraid but I'm sure someone will. xx

miam - yes I did, thanks a lot for that.

hayleylou - my 20 month old does it and has also chipped a couple of front teeth a bit. It seems quite common.

Don't worry about the squeal it is when they get to 4 and 5 and they become very verbal and the high pitched scream has gone well and truly out the window.!!!!!
