4 year old doesn't eat

Like nothing. He doesn't eat any real food at all whatsoever, he would eat chocolate, chocolate biscuits, crackers, sometimes wot sits. That's it. He lives on milk. He's not under weight and he doesn't lack energy but I just don't know to do. Stopping the milk makes no difference. Waited forever for dietitian appointment only to be told keep trying. I'm at the end of my tether and am worrying. Has anyone else been through this?

Is it that he won't try anything else or that he will taste it but decides it doesn't taste a as good as what he's used to?
My 3yo is like this. Basically lives off wheat and potato. Fortunately he still has porridge in the morning so I can hide groud up seeds in it for extra nutrients.
Lately though he has been trying the odd new thing here and there at nursery so I think seeing others his age eating normal food is starting to have an affect on his attitude towards it. With persuasion he will try new things but rarely find something he's prepared to keep eating.
My plan is to start making more homemade snacks packed with hidden nutrition.

Is he at school or Nursery? Does he eat there?

Sorry all, thank-you for your replies, I lost this thread. To answer your questions, he won't try anything. It's not a case of, "I'm not eating that because I want this" because if the choice is nothing, he will choose nothing. He doesn't eat at school either.

Ok so what have school said? Do they have any other concerns like friendships or communication?

Your first course of action should be the health visitor or the school nurse. Surely the school have noticed he doesn't eat and raised it with you?

We also give ours Pediasure or Complan with his milk, watered down, for extra vitamins on particularly bad days.

Just wondering if anyone has suggested the book My Child Won't Eat.

If he's the same at school though have they suggested anything, maybe asking for SENCO to observe him might help?
