Cheaper 'nighttime pants' for 5yo

DD1 is 5.5, and whilst I would love for her to dry at night i have read/been told by the H/V that it is a natural progression and nothing can be done to MAKE it happen and there is no point trying her without a pull up on at night until she has at least several days worth of dry mornings in a row, which hasn't happened yet, so we are going with it for the time being.

However, she is even wetting the pull up whilst still awake, between us having settled her to bed and her falling asleep (i did admittedly used to get annoyed with this as i thought she was being lazy, but i then came to realise that i think she does it subconsciously because her body registers she has the pull-up on (she is completely dry during the day, only very rarely has an accident if she doesn't go to the toilet quick enough, and this has been the case for ages now)
She then usually wets the 2nd one overnight.

We are currently using Huggies dry nites pyjama pants but its getting really expensive especially with 2 per night.I also feel bad that we are contributing heavily to landfill waste, so looked at reusable cloth alternatives, but they seem to be either for children who are nearly dry (her pull ups are still heavily wet in the mornings) or are ridiculously expensive even for one (and we would need several)

Anyone know a cheaper way?? Or do we just need to suck it up and accept it as a necessary expense.

Thanks

There are a couple of somewhat cheaper reusable options that will hold basically one full wee (Motherease big kid pants, Snazzipants night pants, etc.). Could you perhaps get one of those to try at least for the first part of the night?I think it would pay for itself over a couple of months, depending on how often you do a wash. When we used these (the big kid pants in our case), I did also put an extra reusable nappy booster in for a bit more absorbency, and that seemed to work, so you might be able to make them do the second half of the night as well.

You can also buy them, or the full overnight pull-ups, secondhand on facebook, gumtree, vinted, etc., but obviously it depends on how you and your daughter would feel about that.

Aldi do night time pull ups for age 4-7 that are a quite a bit cheaper than the branded ones. My 5yr old still does all his wees in the pull up as soon as it’s on so it’s always full in the morning, we’ve never had any issues with leaks.

We use the Tesco pull ups for my 5.5 year old. Size 6+. They're always absolutely full in the morning but they've never leaked. I believe that they do a size 7 too.

My son is 5 has been out of nappies since 3 he is now out of laziness peeing on the sofa in the day I remind him to go to the toilet and he says he will but then I’ll find him soaked and the sofa I air them out outside n bleach etc I can not afford a new sofa as I’m a lone parent with 3 kids I hate that I am like a robot every single day shouting at him talking to him nicely then going crazy as it is repetitive I just need some tips in how I can help him understand that it’s not cool n to stop him without shouting because I know it’s pure laziness
