Cmpa advice

I've just been told my baby has cmpa, symptoms are vomiting after every feed and sometimes up to 10 times very frequently, diarrhea, wheezing, coughing, hiccuping, crying and looking in general pain.
I put the above down to my over supply and her getting too much lactose and really wish I'd gone to the gp sooner.

I have to cut out dairy and soy from my diet as she's exclusively breastfed and the gp said it could take 4 to 6 weeks to see a difference.

Anyone with a cmpa baby, did it really take this long?

The poor thing won't sleep unless on my chest as she vomits so much and she's so uncomfy and I'm struggling with sleep deprivation too

Hi! My DC has a pretty severe CMPA and we saw an improvement pretty quickly after going dairy-free. The allergen can clear from breastmilk much sooner than that (even just a couple of days), and once the exposure stops, the GI healing can begin in earnest. So, while it could take that long, it's much likelier that your little one will start feeling better soon!

I think it was about 3-4 weeks when my baby’s symptoms started to resolve. He suffered with silent reflux but other than that his symptoms weren’t mainly gastro related and instead it was more eczema, rashes and poor weight gain.

Thanks both, hoping she feels better soon as she's obviously in so much pain and discomfort.
