Affirmations for toddlers ?

My partner wants to play affirmations to our 18month baby on repeat every day. I understand that she thinks it’s will be good for him, but I’m not sure if it’s the equivalent of force feeding a message that he has had no say in choosing. I’m happy reading stories with positive messages/ affirmations once a day, but playing messages on repeat IMO, will be less engaging for him and us.
I also wonder where the line is between allowing him to be who he is vs engineering his mindset.
I get that repeating affirmations helps reprogram adult minds with positive beliefs, but at 18months, surely he doesn’t need reprogramming!

Thoughts please!

I read that actively reading with a child/baby is massively more beneficial than them listening to a recording even of the same thing because they are more engaged and bond with you at the same time.
maybe you could make it into a game and say positive things with her as part of her bedtime routine Eg looking on the mirror or doing actions with her while saying them to make it more engaging and personal?
the recording element sounds a bit off to me too but I can’t really say why…
