Pronouncing Ts and Ds

Hi all!

Does anyone have any experience of their child not being able to pronounce their Ts or Ds? My daughter will be 4 at the end of this month and can't pronounce Ts or Ds. She can do most other sounds no problem. But she will replace these letters with either G or CH. So Daddy is Gaggy and better is becher. She was tongue tied as a baby and had it snipped, however you can see quite clearly the the tie is still there. I don't think this is causing the issue as she's okay producing all other sounds. I'm just wondering if this is something that will eventually resolve itself or if I should go down the speech therapy route? I've just never known a child not be able to say their Ts or Ds!
Thanks 😊

My son was a little bit short-tongued as a child. He couldn't say TH, so it was Yat and Yis, instead of that and this. He grew out of it, by the age of about 6. He's 38 now! He's successful and confident.

My son has a speech delay and we are currently working on the speech sound "F". The speech therapist recommended we create a sound bag for the letter F. So a bag containing things beginning with the letter F e.g. Fire Engine, Frog, Five etc. I would suggest doing this for the speech sounds you are trying to improve on.

Not sure if it is helpful to you but there is a new app for speech which teaches parents how to do speech therapy at home. There is a section on speech sounds so it might be worth a look:
