Teething gel and ashton and parsons powder. Both available from Boots.Poor little chap.

Get him a gum brush or you can use a toothbursh. I've read somewhere that the reason babies have pain while teething is something to do with the bacteria in the mouth coming into contact with the broken gum where tooth is coming through.

Also maybe give him some calpol and see if that helps the pain.

my ds was teething from 6 wks

you can get teething powder as said which is herbel remedy and also the bonjela cool is lovely and soothing

found calgel not very affective for my ds

dentinox was great as could be applied every 20 mins had tons of that stuff lol

also end of flannel in icy cold water rubbing on gums is affective

and also calpol or baby nurofen will help

agree with above advice.......but be warned - DS1 (and 2) "teethed" like that on and off for about 10 months - first teeth came through around 10/11 months!

calpol is fine from 2 mths onwards it will help him bless him my ds teethed from 6 weeks but first tooth came through at 6 mths

but i found all them things made it so much more barable oh also i made water lollies and let him suck on one as it helped cool gums and was good for him also

Oh and put the teething gel in the fridge when your not using it so its ice cold.Cant recomment the ashton and parson powders enough though. It changed my ds from a sore and moody lo back to his usual happy self.

Just putit on their tongue.
I wet my finger, pick up the powder with it and put it on.Easy.My ds wasnt very keen at first but i persevered and he was happy to have them after a while. They can have one every hour if they need it-totally safe as it is herbal and you can still use all the other stuff as well ie.gel and Calpol-By the way i was told baby Neurofen was better for teething as it reduces inflamation better than paracetamol based products(Calpol).
If you have got a Savers shop near you they usually do the powders much cheaper than Boots. They correct motions and tummy upsets as well(so it says on the box-white box with blue writing)

I've always found neurofen better than calpol for teething pain. Of course, if it get's really bad you can use them both . Anbesol liquid is also good - you have to get it from the chemist. And, I found these were great as teething rings when DD was around 3 and 4 months. They're really light and easy for little ones to hold and as they're solid, you can bung them in a steam steriliser or boil them up to kill any bugs.

Good luck.Teething is really horrible for everybody concerned.Forgot to mention you can buy gum massagers (soft silicone thing that fits over your finger)You can gently rub the area and that will help.

This definitely sounds like teething.

For the dribbling I would recommend Dribblebusters. These are look great and compliment a babies outfit rather than hiding it with a bib or getting wet and having to keep changing clothes. see www.dribblebuster.co.uk

For the pain relief I found Teetha and Calgel good.
