i only have dd, and obviously have learnt things as i go along and still dont know very much.i took dd (just turned 10 mth) to be weighed today and was showing off to hv doing all her tricks!! she seen a clock on the wall pointed and said tick tock very clearly (done this for a few weeks now) put her hands over her face pulled them away and said boo!!said on, doo, twee (123) said oggy and oof oof oof!!(doggy obviously)if you say no she shakes her head and same with yes - nods.claps hands too. she says things very clearly, not just that i can understand it being her mother iykwim!! now i thought this was normal for a baby her age but hv was gobsmacked. i would say she has a vocabulary of around 8-10 words all in all.i have pics of different people all round the house and if you say wheres jamie (her cousin) she points to the right pic. i was shocked at the hv being shocked!!

is this normal for her age? she started off on the 75th centile for height and weight and now is over the 98th for both.xx

she does sound advanced, dd2 was a bit like this, had a good few words at 11 months. However she was very late to walk - I think they do one or the other! Dd2 still has advanced language skills and likes to point to words and says 'whats that say?', she can read a few words and she is only 2. But she's a right little monkey and still hates walking anywhere . Enjoy her and talk to her lots to encourage her speaking.

she sounds lovely and sociable too

certainly sounds like communication is her thing . My boys were not at that level until about 14 months maybe later.

Yep sounds advanced to me, but great! how fab, I wish my dd nearly 13 mths could make herself understood as well as that, it'd make life a lot easier
