DD refusing to go to nursery suddenly

My DD is 2.5 and has been going to nursery since she was 6mo for two afternoons a week.

Today she has refused point blank to the point of hysteria, but won't give any reason for it. Has been a bit tearful overall for a couple of weeks, but generally seems to enjoy nursery up to this point.

What's happened. Is this her exerting her rights and finding her boundaries, or should I be worried about what has been going on?? I think there was another thread about this recently, but can't find it now.

Could well be either! Although the fact that she has been going so long and all of a sudden is hysterical about going would make me think that maybe something has happened. I would ring the nursery and talk to her carers and ask if they have noticed a difference in her. Sometimes when kids are being a bit of a handful the teachers still say 'yes she's been wonderful, no problems' so it might be worth you double checking. Also ask them if there are any other children that she is wary of or if there has been a disruption - like a new teacher coming in - could be a million little things but is def worth checking on Hope she's ok

hi - I posted on one like this yesterday - can't do links, but look under the 'nurseries' topic. My ds who is 2.2 sometimes does this with his childminder, I think he is finding bounderies, but I have checked with our childminder and all is fine as soon as I have dropped him off, so think it is worth checking with her nursery.
