makes her own?

Have just found her in the kitchen standing on a chair filling up a baby bottle with milk from the fridge. She has put it all together and is sitting drinking it now.

ROFL

Noooo, I would have thought you only had to worry once she started putting brandy in for a bit of extra kick

canadianmum · 10/01/2008 10:36

Yes I would say get her a trainer cup with a soft spout - as soon as DS and DD stopped drinking milk in the day they were on a cup.

Mind you next hurdle is DS's Noo Noo (Dummy) he is 3.2 and sooo attached to them - I say them because he has 32!

stopped drinking milk during the day???? how'd you do that then?

my 2 were bf until 12mths, then went straight onto a cup....with a spout at the time....dd has just gone onto a beaker at 21mths, and ds was about the same age if i remember rightly....when i put them onto cups of milk it was only for 1st thing, naptime and bedtime, the rest of the day was juice or water....

i find my two (ds is now just turned 3) love choosing what flavour juices they want at the shop, and maybe letting your dd choose a couple of 'big girls beakers'....may help the transision a bit easier to get her involved.

£.6 is a bit to old to bestill drinking out of a baby bottle. Give her a cup with a spoat to start with then introduce prper cups.

Twinkie1 · 10/01/2008 11:16

Both of my kids don't really lik emilk - DD will have a glass with her breakfast and that is it - she stopped at 9 months and DS will have it on cereal or will have hot chocolate (chocollatto) but wouldn't dream of drinking a glass of milk.

Health visitor said was fine they eat lots of cheese and yogurt so should be getting enough calcium!

fryalot · 10/01/2008 11:19

she does generally drink milk out of glasses and cups, it was just this morning that she helped herself to a baby bottle

She does like her milk though - I have to ration it or it would be ALL she ever drank and wouldn't eat anything either.

Dd1 has a bottle for bed (she's almost 4) but she drinks out of an open cup durring the day, i just can't bring myself to take it away

We will be binning all bottles and potty on her 4th birthday as agreed by dd1.

bubblagirl · 10/01/2008 11:31

i think its ok if only for bed then you can get her to choose new big girls cup to have milk in and send others to bottle fairy

my ds still has dummy to sleep with no bottles now he is 2.7 got rid of bottles before he was 2

but i dont intend to get rid of dummies till 3 maybe bit later little of what they like wont hurt just not past 4 when at school
