Teething temperatures?

Hello, my baby is 9 months old and has random high temperatures of 39.5! We went to hospital the first time and the bloods were all normal but it's happening again now. ( two weeks later) I phoned the hospital and they said I could be teething or maybe an infection in his body somewhere but to use my judgement....
has anyone had experience of temperatures this high when their little ones are teething? He is bright still and eating and drinking.
Thanks

39.5C would be too high to be put down to teething. They are right though, if your baby is otherwise OK you an give them some paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Important things to look out for are: are they drinking enough and have wet nappies? You can cout their respiratory rate and see if it's up. Are they struggling with breathing? Are they already or do you think they are drowsy? Any new rashes?
Gut feeling is important. If in doubt, call your GP.

Aha no worries thanks for you reply.
I took him to the GP this morning as she thinks he may have an ear infection and he is back on antibiotics now.
Temp came up again today to 39.6!
