There is something not right with my 7 month old

I am just not sure whats going on with my baby. He is late on all his gross motor skills, when he tries to sit he wobbles forward and is very unbalanced. He can't push up and lift his chest off the floor during tummy time and gets really tired fast. His arms just seem really stiff as well? When I try to lift his arms in bath or to get dressed they go really stiff, almost like he is stronger than me. I noticed he can't raise his arms past his shoulders. Despite having rigid arms his upper body seems really weak, his head control is not great, he struggles to hold it in midline and if he tries to look up it wobbles. Just recently he has started having an open mouth posture and drooling. People have started asking me if he is okay, my older son asked me if he was going to be disabled Confused I am getting worried about him, I knew there was something different about him but I didn't know what. He is also really sensitive to noise. My HV is useless, and my Dr is very dismissive. He has an appt with our paed soon so I am going to bring it up then- the paed is also very dismissive so it is really frustrating. He hasn't seen him since he was 4 months old and things are much more apparent now so I hope he takes me seriously. I have diagnosed a few things myself: cerebral palsy, ASD, hypermobility?

Has anyone else had similar issues? I honestly feel like there is more knowledge and advice on here than talking to the professionals Grin xx

Is he a big baby? My baby is and has a big head, despite being premature! My baby didn’t sit unaided until just 9 months (which is normal but on the later end) and didn’t roll both ways until 7.5months. I seen a physio privately who did a full assessment and gave us exercises which helped a lot but said his size definitely contributed to meeting those milestones later. Can you ask for a physio referral yourself?

I think being quite assertive at your paeds appointment is the way to go. Make a list of all the things you observed and take it with you so you don't forget to mention anything.
Was he a term baby? Any problems in pregnancy or during delivery?
We're all the baby checks ok?

Hi @AfterGlow87 yes! He is huge 🙈 was in the 98 percentile for weight and length, his weight has dropped though to 75th due to GERD but he is very long! Yeah, I have just booked to see a private physio. I hope it is just because he is big, but his head is very wobbly, when he tries to look up from midline it wobbles- alot! Confused Today we were in the garden and my daughter asked me why his hands were shaking and I looked at them and he had tremors. He seems to have really strong legs but rigid arms and a weak torso and kneck. Hopefully will know more when he goes to physio.

Hi @felinewoman Thats a good idea about the list as I always forget stuff when I go! Being assertive isn't my strong point but I am sick of it now so def will push! I had growth scans because my 1st was big and ended up is scibu. I was induced but somehow he was still huge, was back to back and still managed to get stuck, then they used forceps and his shoulders were really stuck. His heart rate dropped a lot. They just picked up on head lag during baby checks...but I just had an incline something wasnt right x

Are you in the UK - wondering why you have a paediatrician?
