Need solidarity from anyone whose child has been EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to teething!

DD just seems to 'feel' teething so much worse than her peers. We took her to a cranial osteopath when she was a few months for other issues but they actually mentioned back then that she would struggle with teething....andy GOD has it been true. She is now 20 months and teething is an absolute nightmare. Screaming all day at anything and everything, resisting her nap unless I BF her to sleep (and the biting that comes with that), refusal to eat much, cluster feeding (if I can even call it that) like a bloody newborn. Whenever I mention it to friends they tell me it can't be teething, but I know it is! I guess I'm just looking for some solidarity from fellow parents of sensitive teethers to tell me it can be this bad for some kids and they turn out ok?

Hey, sorry your little one is having a rough time, is it her molars coming through?
I can give solidarity to having a sensitive teething baby but sadly I can't tell you the future as my DD is 8 months old but she's just pushing through her 7th tooth and it's been hell for the last 3 months. Her sleep, eating everything is affected and I'm exhausted 😞 stuck bf her back to sleep at every hourly wake up as it's the only thing that works since this new one started emerging 2 nights ago

Sending hope that it calms soon for you both ❤️

I’m a firm believer that some little ones really do struggle this badly because of teeth. Over the last three years we’ve had months and months of agony with not eating, not sleeping etc and all have coincided with teeth - although it’s not always obvious what’s wrong at the time! I just wanted to offer some hope as since my son popped through his last molar he now sleeps and eats reliably - it feels like a miracle! So hang in there. He’s generally a sensitive little thing in many areas but he’s also funny and loving and cares a lot about things so I think it’s part of his personality that I wouldn’t change.

@Mrswimble thank you! This has given me a lot of hope :D currently got her canines coming through and the last few weeks have been a warzone. Cannot wait for it to be over!!!

I actually think canines were the worst for us. Won’t lie, molars were difficult, but I think the big ones at the front affect eating and sleeping and generally acting like a demon more. So you are nearly through the hardest part!
