I recently took my son to the doctor as he had a lump of what I thought was fatty tissue right between his eyebrows.
However the GP thinks my son may have mild craniosynostosis (early fusing of the skull bones if anyone is st familiar)
When my son was born he did has quite pronounced sutures and ridges on his skull but no one ever said it was of concern.
I then raised concerns numerous times about the shape of his head with my GP and HV as he had definite flattening on one side. I was always told this was positional and to keep moving him and encouraging him to sleep on the other side and eventually it would correct itself as he got older. It did get better but his head is still misshapen in my opinion but not so obvious now he has hair.
However I now wonder was this an early sign of the craniosynstosis?
The doctor did stress if my son does have it, it's very very mild.
My husband does have a similar ridge on his head but nothing as pronounced that you can see as my son's.
Does anyone know do this will become more obvious as he grows? Will this affect his brain development?
