4-year-old turns rest time into play time

I'm sure it's what she's doing. She wants to lay in her bed with lullabies, but wants me to cuddle and tickle her as I do so. She stopped napping last year and still probably wants to, but doesn't at the same time

Do you mean bedtime? My 4yr old doesn't nap anymore either but gets really tired and the hours between 4-7 can be very difficult. I'm probably a soft touch but I lie with her and read a story then put lights off and sing nursery rhymes and scratch her back. It's the quickest way!

I'm just thinking that she wants to nap, but is in a way, denying it.

My oldest didn't nap much at 4yo (the others definitely had given up by that time!) but she liked to have a peaceful time during the day.
So she used to have what she called "quiet time" where she went to her room with whatever quiet toys she wanted and had a time in there.
I got her a digital clock and would write underneath the numbers when it was time to finish (she liked to know things like that). After a bit she wanted to choose the time-her favourite time to come out was 4:44. Which gave her about 2 hours!
But she loved that time alone-if she did need anything else or felt ill, she knew she could call for me, but generally she was happy on her own. I would be in the next room and could hear her playing. She'd ask for "quiet time" if I didn't give it her.
