1am and after osteopathy, infacol, and any number of things, its back to sq one. Screaming four week old, nerves shot. Anyone out there in same boat?

Cranial osteopathy to help with colic/calm down. Did improve things. Just tonight awful. Can't get him to stop screaming for longer than five, even holding him.

Oh it does wear you down, doesn't it? Poor little love, sounds like his arrival in the world has been traumatic for him, with the colic.

Do you have any other children, Gimli? Or can you sleep when he is sleeping?

candypandy · 01/01/2008 01:19

have you tried holding him, then bouncing (yourself) gently up and down standing on the bed

Gimli · 01/01/2008 01:22

No, first. Brilliant to have him too. DW had difficult pregnancy, emergency c section
(heart rate plunged).
I'm bad sleeper (so that's where it comes from). DW cat naps during day, I've never managed. He had been getting better, but back to sq one and have to work next week (fear) but just for a week (freelance, thankfully).

i know you've a long night ahead
sending hugs

Gimli · 01/01/2008 01:27

TY. Likes the bouncing....Would have gone 4 drive but too much fizz!

I know what you mean, Gimli. I find it hard to nap during the day too. By the time I get sleepy it's time to wake up again.

But the great thing about babies is that they don't stay that way for long...you'll blink and suddenly he will be running off and you will have to chase him

Gimli · 01/01/2008 01:45

Yes. He's great now. Just tonight, hellish!

Well you are being a wonderful dad being up in the night with him. My DH did stuff like that for me and I will love him forever for it. He is a wonderful dad. You will have an unbreakable bond with him because you do these stints.

My DS is 7 now and his dad is his absolute hero.

Thanks... He's been grizzling all day. Terrible wind. Sleeping on me at moment (thankfully). Will pass on the caffeine suggestion to DW. Happy new year
