when do babies start to play with toys?

dd has got loads of toys for xmas [shes 6 months]
thought id get someof them out [somehavent even been opened properly yet !

but she doesnt really play with them yet,do they find it easier when they can sit up ?she does like her playmat though and likes batting the spinners and stuff

i would say when shes sitting up, although the toys will be ignored you know, in favour of the remote/phone/camera

hi there.

I think it depends on what the toy is... beleive it or not even at six months old they actually have a preference over which brightly colour plastic thing they slober over!

If you have the energy i've found that what they really enjoy is watching you play with the toys. You're far more capable of making it do all the things it does and they use your example to learn how to play. They are naturally curious but sometimes the big surprize in a toy is so obvious that they just don't get it.

thanks i could put dd in her bumbo and let hr watch me play her toys

and yes bet she will want to play [ie smash!!]
all the things like the camera mobiles etc]
