Put him in a grobag bumbly - will help him stop getting his legs caught up, plus will keep him warm at night if/when he ends up pushing his covers off.

Re. the rolling - bad luck! . I'm afraid there is not much you can do until he learns to roll himself back - you will just have to resign yourself to rolling him onto his back when he wakes for now. dd1 did similar - learnt how to sit up, but not how to lie down again - after months of sleeping through I had a couple of weeks of being woken several times a night until (mercifully) she worked out how to lie down again !

Congratulations little Bumbly ! Frustarting though it may be he's perfectly safe in the cot with sides up, the bars may bang when he rolls into them btu won't cause damage and he will soon learn to extract his leg and roll back. A sleeping bag may allay some of your worries and limit his mobility for a bit. Let him lie on a mat on the floor to practice and you can guide his arm(which may well get stuck underneath) to enable him to learn to roll back. Watch out for him on a changing table, sofa or bed now.

He will quickly learn to roll back again - just needs practice. In the day time make sure he has plenty of time on the floor to be allowed to practice his rolling technique.

We had this, and I had a few nights of running in to flip him back over! I almost invested in a flashing light for my head and a fluorescent jacket as I felt like the AA! Way before he learnt how to roll from front to back the novelty wore off and he stopped doing it so often at night. He now sleeps on his front all the time
