When can I ditch the pushchair???

E currently have a double pushchair due to having a 19 month old and a 6 month old, but I'd love to ditch it and just get a single asap! DD is now very insistent on being allowed to walk rather than being in the pushchair, but obviously still can't walk great distances so the double is sticking around for a while yet. But got me wondering how old were your DC when you were able to wave bye bye to the pushchair completely?

I would sling little one, big one in pram for little longer.

Then get a buggy board.

I can't carry my little one in a sling due to back issues 😣
I'm not in a desperate rush to ditch the double, but would like to have a rough timeline 😂

My eldest was out of a buggy completely by 18 months. She just wouldn't go in anymore, she liked to walk. I drive though so she didn't have lots and lots of walking to do. My youngest has just turned 3 and I still sometimes use it for her! I think they're all very different.

Have you thought about ditching the double and just getting a buggy board? I suppose it depends on if she still naps when you're out and about etc. I think buggy boards are great for those kids that want to walk but it's that extra reassurance that they can jump on if need be.

What about a buggy with one of those pedal things for the 19MO to stand on when they get tired? It all depends on the kid and how much you're walking (and how much you're prepared to listen to them whine about their legs hurting Grin) when you give it up really. I think mine was about 2 when she pretty much walked everywhere x

Edit; I mean a buggy board. Just read pp post and apparently that's what they're called Grin

I think she'll be out of it completely by 2, but didn't know if I was being overly optimistic 😂
