TODDLER NOT SLEEPING HELP

Hi my 27 month old son was a good sleeper until about 11 months old since then it has been awful we maybe get one or 2 good nights in row if we are lucky, it never bothered me too much but now I'm struggling as I'm heavily pregnant and just don't have the energy for it anymore. We have a routine not a strict one but we get in from nursery about half 5 he has dinner bath and then bed by 7/8. he rarely naps during the day but honestly doesn't help him sleep more if he has or doesn't have one. We had 2 really good weeks were he was sleeping 7/7 but then he started waking up at the same time every night crying sometimes he's still asleep and others he isn't, he doesn't settle back in his bed or ours we have to take him into living room where he falls asleep straight away on one of us most of the time every time I try to take him to bed he wakes up and cries, so I have to bring him back through again and obviously me being pregnant sleeping on the couch isn't an option so my partner has to do it most nights with him. I really want to transition him into his toddler bed but I'm scared it will make his sleep worse! He goes to sleep absolutely fine most nights on the couch and we take him through to bed then and he doesn't wake up. Any advice would be so helpful

Would having a small double work so that one of you can get into bed with him?

@BunnyRuddington we have actually thought about doing this! I will have a look at some just now and order to see how it goes
