There I was, thinking I was doing so well, my DS was sleeping from 9pm til 6am with only one 15min feed at about 3, when all of a sudden everything's gone pearshaped! He got a tummy bug just before Christmas which disrupted his sleep, but he hasn't got back into a good pattern since. He is waking every 2 hours and screaming the place down if I don't feed him, then writhing around with what seems like wind regardless of what I do to try and help.

I think I am going to die of sleep deprivation!

He is also 12 weeks this week- is this something other people have experienced? A growth spurt?

Any tips?

Please help.

Yes it probably is a growth spurt, also it's normal for a baby to want to eat loads after recovering from an illness. I wonder if you should get him checked out by the HV or Gp because he seems to be distressed by wind - maybe it's just taking his gut a while to recover from the tummy bug he had.

If he's slept well before, he will sleep well again, but it's exhausting in the meantime.

Hi yetihead no specific experience to add but would agree that as parents you just seem to have them sussed and they go and change everything. DS was about 1 before I realised that I was always going to be on the back foot and he was the one setting the pace!

Do recall that established sleeping patterns are really easily disrupted and do take a bit of work to get them back again.

Hope someone comes along soon with more practical guidance.

Good luck
