sockmonkey · 29/12/2007 23:03

DS1 (4) wants to be the Stig/ Top Gear presenter
DS2 (2) seems to want to work in McDonalds... there's aiming high

TheMNPeacekeepingForce · 29/12/2007 23:04

Ds (2) wants to be a bin man (well that'll impress the girls I don't think) but very specifically wants to be on the recycling sorting lorry not the normal bin man lorry.

lizziemun · 29/12/2007 23:10

My brother wanted to be a bin man as they only worked one day a week

Scramble · 29/12/2007 23:23

failing that, he wants to be a wrestler or boxer. I am encouraging him being a vet/dentist cos they make the most money

Quattrocento · 29/12/2007 23:28

DD (9) wants to be a doctor. I told her she'd got the mind of a lawyer. She looked insulted.
DS (7) "well if she's being a doctor, I'd better be one too". There's solidarity. He spoilt it by adding "Unless I could work with Jeremy Clarkson?"

PeachesMcLean · 29/12/2007 23:29

DS (5 at the time) announced he wanted to be a pilot. We said, "oooh, good job." He said "yes because I'll earn one hundred thousand pounds". I said "oh yes, and what are you going to do with that?". He said "I'll buy lots of houses and make even more money".

NB: this is NOT the kind of thing that is commonly talked about in this house! I do not know where it has come from.

arionater · 30/12/2007 00:32

At 4 my nephew told me he was going to be a policeman and, crucially, marry a policewoman . . . (Quite endearing, except that as I remember he followed this up by asking me 'why do you not have a husband to be a daddy with? is it because no one loves you?' which, a scant few days after breaking up with someone, was a bit much!)

pinkbubble · 30/12/2007 00:34

DD1 wants to be a chef (or is it a cook?) Trouble is she loves adding food colouring to everything she cooks (even though I keep on telling her!) She just loves the COLOUR!!

fortyplus · 30/12/2007 00:39

kindersurprise · 30/12/2007 00:43

lol at pink fluffy clouds and giraffes. And wanting to be a grown up is a great ambition.

Am going to ask my DCs tomorrow. I would guess that DD would like to be a princess and DS a racing driver but they may just surprise me.

Viggoswife · 30/12/2007 10:37

DS is 4 and wants to be a Paramedic. When I grow up he tells me I am to be a nurse so we can help people together. Hope he still feels this way about me when he is a teenager.

colditz · 30/12/2007 10:50

ds1 (4) wants to be 'a daddy'

SeaShells · 30/12/2007 10:57

DS has said he wants to work for NASA since he was around 5yrs old - failing that, an archeaologist (sp?)
DD is still in the 'wanting to be a princss' phase.

LoveMyGirls · 30/12/2007 11:10

DS wants to be a car driver. Thought so

SpottyHamster · 30/12/2007 15:47

DS2 wanted to be a train journey (yes a journey!!) Was big fan of Thomas Tank. Now he would like to be a computer games tester.

Blu · 30/12/2007 15:54

DS
from 3-5 a 'book writer', writing library books about Egyptians - scary ones for grown-ups, less scary for children. he would work from his office in the mobile libraray, and would need a film maker in the same office ('like Tim Burton') to make the films of his books. He would drop his children off at nursery and his wife would go to work in her office.
5-6.5 - a paleantologist, living in a caravan in the desert, towed by a green land rover, getting home to his wife (now a sahm) and two children on one day a week. Also acting as advisor on all asects of dinosaurs to his cousin (12) who wants to be a novelist.

Kammy · 30/12/2007 16:18

Last year ds (5) wanted to be a hotel owner and cook lovely trifle and roast lamb for everyone, this year a primary school teacher...(currently in Year 1 and we never hear the end of Mrs x says this, I think I'll have to tell Mrs x that. If not that then a vet (except he is scared to touch almost any animal and has only just managed to stroke our cat very gingerly. Vert kind to his cuddly leopard yoy though..)
