My 3 year old DS doesn't want to grow up! is he the only one?

this is purely in the physical sense, mentally he thinks he is 17! he wasn't interested in crawling, walking, or self feeding, though when HE decided to have a go it was like he had been an expert for years. He won't acknowledge the prescence of the toilet/potty. Mentally, he has been saying his alphabet since 18 months, can count to a hundred (all of which he has learned without prompting) and can operate DVD/computer more proficiently than me! HELP!

alphabet and counting thing sounds a bit too advanced, is he physically able to do things and just being 'lazy' or is he not physically able?

No he is totally able, just disinterested. If he is 'into' something he will do it exceptionally well but if not there is no chance. He was potty trained for about 2 weeks 6 months ago,and got the concept of it straight away. He used to sit on potty and play with cars but as soon as it was no longer stimulating he refused to go near it anymore. I do try and reiterate this at nursery but I am getting highly skeptical looks!

you get one or t'other but not both together .. children who are mentally advanced early seem to be slower physically .. don't worry it will even out

remembers DS talking at 10 months but couldn't jump till 3

On this idea my 21mth old walked at 8mths, climbed out of her cot at 15mths, can dress and undress herself and use the potty if prompted. She can hardly say a word. [frgrin]

Completely misunderstood the thread title. Years and years ago now, my nephew asked his mum to get some Special K breakfast cereal. He was 5 and had mis-understood the tagline "for people who don't want to grow any more"
