Breech head - worried mum

Looking for some advice as I’m currently at the maternity unit and had about five different types of advice given by the professionals so far!

I gave birth to my daughter today by c section. She was frank breech since 20 weeks and measured at the 97th percentile so she was truly squashed under my ribcage. Her head is a bit kidney bean shaped but she also has a thick nuchal fold and I’m worried sick and I’m not really getting any answers as understandably she’s just been born.

Has anyone had experience of similar and it’s sorted itself out? She’s gorgeous face on and I feel really guilty this is even a worry. I did have a CVS at 12 weeks due to work increased risk of DS but that came back negative along with the other main trisonomies they test for

Congratulations!

Didn't want to read and run. Your anxiety sounds sky high. Can you talk to a member of staff about how you are feeling?

How about the lines on the palm of her hand? There's something about having just one line being associated with down syndrome. Not sure how accurate it is.

I hope you are managing to enjoy some of your time together xxx

i did and two of the midwives agreed it was concerning. She definitely doesn’t have downs as the CVS I had tested negative for that and I know that breech head is a condition (I can’t remember what it’s called) so wondering/hoping if anyone who’s experienced similar can share their experience of it X

Their heads are so squishy still that it will probably normalise. I had a breech baby and her head was a bit flat initially but it resolved quickly. Isn't there anyone to ask? Ask the obstetrician or paediatrician!
