When do they start asking WHY all the time?

When does it start? We are discussing how we will deal with it. I think we will start off trying to give proper answers and end up saying whatever piece of nonsense will get them off our backs

2.4 months for DS. We had about a month of relentless repetitive "Whassoo doin', Mummy? ... Mummy, whassoo doin'?" from around 2.3 before he discovered the power of "Why?"

I find the best way to deal with it is to answer a couple of levels and then ask seriously "Why do you think it is?".

My DD2 is 17 months and has started saying why - She doesn't understand it though thankfully and it's just joined hello as a useful opening gambit in her repertoire, only repeated about 60 times a day.

I dread to think what she'll be like in 6 months time - I may well steal an IV stand from the hospital and rig myself a gin drip to get me through it.
